Research Program

The research component of the STC focuses entirely on transportation safety issues of regional and national importance. The STC selects two to three large-scale projects and multiple seed grants each year. The seed grant program provides researchers smaller "seed funding" which allows appropriate research ideas to be developed into larger research projects that can have a valuable impact on the transportation industry.

The STC Research program is fully integrated with the Educational and Technology Transfer components of the STC as well. STC students work on safety related research and/or complete a safety related internship. This gives the students hands-on experience dealing with safety issues that are of regional and national importance.
